Hello, I’m Octavia
Storytelling is at the heart of everything I do—whether it’s shaping a brand’s online presence, amplifying a message through media coverage, or crafting content that resonates.
My full name is Octavia Kathryn Alexandra Escamilla & no, sadly it doesn’t fit on my passport. Originally from Texas, I now call Utah home. I graduated with a B.A. in English with a minor in Marketing from Brigham Young University in 2016.
What I do
With extensive experience leading marketing and publicity campaigns, I specialize in building strategies that don’t just capture attention, but create lasting impact. Over the years, I’ve worked with brands, businesses, and individuals to design campaigns that amplify visibility and strengthen reputations.
My work combines creative storytelling with data-driven insights, ensuring every campaign is not only imaginative but also effective.
In 2022, I joined Brandon Sanderson at his company Dragonsteel. The record-breaking 40+ million dollar Kickstarter campaign forever changed the industry, and shaped what it means to build a community online as an author.
I continue to enjoy growing Brandon’s social media platform. For me, the beauty of this industry lies in its constant motion—I’m energized by its shifts and inspired to stay ahead of the curve. I have since taken on additional authors as a strategist and consultant.
Before working for Brandon Sanderson, I was exclusively a freelancer for a variety of brands including Ford, Land Rover, BMW, Thursday Boots, Thread Wallets, and many more.
Interests
Words, words, words! I spend my free time reading and writing. I have an insatiable appetite for fiction.
Food is my love language. I particularly enjoy cooking with fresh herbs and vegetables from my garden.
On the weekends you’ll find me hiking and exploring Utah.
